GWR Team

Joyriders Spain are a new sponsor for the GWR team in 2009 and have been a welcome addition to support the GWR team as they prepared for the coming season. Three team members spent a week training on the roads, in and around, the Cordoba region with Joyriders in February.

This was for some much needed "warm weather" training, as after nearly three weeks of snow back in England it was a welcome change for the team to be training in 20 degrees every day. This allowed the riders to get in some serious miles; they managed over 500 miles with 10,000m of climbing on the hilly roads around Cabra and Route which are to the south east of Cordoba.

Whilst there the team managed to catch the finish of stage three of the Rut Del Sol in Cordoba. They also climbed, not once but twice over the course of their stay, to the mountain top finish used in the tour of Spain in Cabra which is a 7 km, 1000m climb. The team riders even managed to leave with some fashionable cycling tan lines ready for the launch. The GWR team would like to thank Mark, Jude and John for the hospitality over the week, from what is a truly first class training and cycling holiday resort.
